Learning about your Kua number in feng shui helps you with many different aspects of your life. Find out about Kua numbers and what they have to do with your personality.
Kua Numbers and Elements
In feng shui, individual Kua numbers are calculated by your birth date and your gender. This number dictates the most auspicious and inauspicious directions for positive and negative energy flow. Kua numbers are also associated with specific personality traits and one of the five feng shui elements of:
- Earth: The earth element governs the northeast and southwest sectors and the center of your home or office.
- Fire: The fire element rules the south sector.
- Metal: The metal element governs west and northwest sectors.
- Wood: The wood element rules the east and southeast sectors.
- Water: The water element governs the north sector.
Kau Numbers and Eight Mansions
Kua numbers run from one through nine and are separated into two groups: East and West. Using the eight mansions method, each group has four auspicious directions and four inauspicious directions.
