Golden Buddha Statue

There are some amazing Buddha statues around the world. Monstrous and gigantic depictions of the father of Buddhism can be found at temples.
This statue tribute is the Golden Buddha. It's located in Nan Province, Thailand where it graces the Khao Noi temple. It is a very stunning and impressive dedication to The Buddha.
Golden Buddha

One of the 2,800 stupas in the Valley of the Temples, Bagan, Myanmar, the beautiful golden Buddha sits in peace and serenity.
The region is considered one of the most religious areas of the world. At one time, there were more than 10,000 temples, pagodas and monasteries in the vicinity. Through the years more than 7,000 were destroyed by earthquakes, neglect and other acts of nature and mankind.
Buddha Head in Bodhi Tree Roots

Entrapped by the roots of a Bodhi tree, the sandstone head of an ancient Buddha statue is located in the ancient city of Ayutthaya, Thailand, in the compound of Wat Mahathat.
The Bodhi tree, also called the Banyan tree, has special significance in Buddhism. It was under the Bodhi tree that Gautama Buddha, the father of Buddhism, achieved enlightenment. The Bodhi tree itself symbolizes the conscious enlightenment of Buddhism.
Carved Wooden Sakyamuni Buddha

Delicately carved from a camphor tree and meticulously decorated with 60 taels (monetary unit) of gold, the seated Sakyamuni Buddha statue is spectacular and is more than 66 feet high. Located in the Lingyin Si Temple, Hangzhou, Shandong Province, China, this exquisite Buddha was completed in 1956. The Lingyin Si Temple is also the Temple of Inspired Seclusion and the Temple of the Soul's Retreat.
Tian Tan Buddha

Sitting majestically on a lotus throne atop a three-tiered altar, the Tian Tan Buddha, The Big Buddha, appears dignified and serene as he overlooks the Po Lin Monastery. Located on the Ngong Ping Plateau, Lantau Island, Hong, Kong, the Buddha pose of a raised hand symbolizes the removal of suffering and afflictions. The left hand resting on his lap symbolizes giving or generosity (dhana).
The world's largest Buddha statue in bronze and in seated post is 110 feet tall and weighs 280 tons. Fashioned from steel, the frame is decorated with 202 individual bronze pieces and was completed in 1993.
Reclining Buddha

The Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Phra Buddhasaiyas), located in Wat Pho, Bangkok, Thailand, houses the largest Image of Buddha in Thailand.
The statue measures 150 feet in length and is 49 feet high. Buddha's body is gold plated and his eyes and the soles of his feet are inlaid with mother-of-pearl. The bottoms of both feet on the Buddha statue are decorated with 108 intricate auspicious scenes. This gorgeous Buddha was constructed between 1824 and 1851.
The Six Buddhas of Happiness

The Six Buddhas of Prosperity and Happiness represent the Maitreya in various poses. The Laughing Buddhas symbolize the attainment of wealth, happiness and material prosperity. The number six symbolizes all things in life flowing smoothly.

Meditating Buddha

The Meditating Buddha, located at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha on the grounds of the Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand, stands guard at the East Entrance. Inside the Temple the Emerald Buddha, measuring 26 inches tall, is clothed in gold robes.
The Emerald Buddha is so sacred only the King and Queen are allowed to touch it four times a year when the robes are changed each season.

Laughing Buddha

The Lucky Buddha, also known as Buddha of the Future, is in the style of the Chinese Maitreya Buddha. Said to live in the sixth layer of heaven, the red-robed Buddha is the ultimate symbol of happiness and when used in feng shui fulfills everyone's life. He brings good luck, prosperity, wealth and good fortune. The Lucky Buddha rejuvenates chi and dissolves anger and tension.
The Lingshan Grand Buddha

The Lingshan Grand Buddha in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China stands over 288 feet tall. This bronze and tin statue of Sakyamuni Buddha is on the original site of the ancient Tang Dynasty Xianfu Temple. It was built in accordance with the 32 features of the Buddha found in the sutra.
- A raised right hand, palm facing out inscribed with a fearless sign, symbolizes the removal of suffering.
- The left hand, palm facing outward inscribed with a wishes seal, has the thumb and forefinger forming a circle signifying the giving of happiness.
- The character on the statue's chest stands for solemnity and virtue.
Maitreya Buddha of Diskit Monastery

This Maitreya Buddha is located in northern India. It's the largest (nearly 105 feet high) and oldest statue of the Maitreya Buddha. The Tibetan Buddhism monastery is a Gelugpa sect (Yellow Hat Sect) in the Ladakh region. Construction of the statue began in 2006. In 2010, the HH the Dalai Lama held a consecration ceremony.
